⦁ Hand fly except cross country to keep sharp
⦁ Keep in mind the major difference between DA vs MDA
⦁ Can't intercept the GS from above it
⦁ When air is turbulent, fly above MDA (buffer)
⦁ Do not bank more than standard rate
⦁ Remember compass errors ANDS NOSE UNOS
⦁ Use BRG1/BRG2 as a tool
⦁ Staying at altitude with no autopilot is what I call 'medium flight'
⦁ Nearest in lieu of DME see AIM 1-2-3-c Uses of Suitable RNAV Systems.
⦁ VFR on top when pilot requests...Uses magnetic course
⦁ AIM 5-5-11 Visual Approaches...Stay clear of clouds
⦁ Keep resetting the heading bug to be on top even when on NAV mode
⦁ Too busy trying to figure out where the waypoint is? "Can I get an initial vector?"
⦁ Request full approach or delay vectors if possible to give time to get setup and established
⦁ Information vs instruction from ATC
⦁ Cleared and Established you have permission to follow approach altitudes
⦁ 'Traffic in sight' or 'Negative contact'
⦁ No radar coverage no vectors
⦁ GPS MEA includes ATC
⦁ R for FSS is frequency they receive on
⦁ Expect PTAC (Position Turn Altitude Clearance)
⦁ When you are cleared to an airport/fix if you go NORDO you can fly to the clearance point
⦁ Tower/ATC do not use ADS-B for airborne aircraft
Green - NAV Frequencies
Yellow - Minimum Altitudes
Orange - MDAs NOT DAs
Red - Published Missed Approach
